Born out of student flats in London in 2018 and subsequently forged in bars, clubs, and independent music venues around the city and beyond, Fashion Blind trade in creative riffs and rhythms, punk spirit, catchy alt-rock hooks, and satirical (yet personal) lyricism. Over the last three years, their unique style and penchant for energetic live shows has left them with both an enthusiastic cult following and a catalogue of standout songs.
The four-piece (comprised of friends Anders Waller, Luke Tyrrell, Max Higdon, and Jude Dulake) are now fresh off the back of two sold-out shows in London and have already put out two short EPs. Their biggest track, the irresistably catchy 'Whatcha Thinkin' About', has amassed 8,500 plays on Spotify and 11,000 views on YouTube - a music video which both captures their attitude and demonstrates the band's DIY ethos up to this point. Both EPs were recorded, produced, and released using nothing but sweat, blood, tears, old laptops, and worn-out microphones, and each show has been the result of the drive and determination to share their music with as many people as possible.
Having just recently finished recording their debut full-length album on tape with Ed Deegan at Gizzard Recording Studio, and with a project known as 'Live in a Warehouse' on the way, 2021 looks set to belong to Fashion Blind. The lead single from the aforementioned LP - ‘All Alone Now’ - was hand-selected by Tom Robinson to be played on BBC Introducing back in November, and the band have a number of gigs lined up once lockdown restrictions lift, most notably on a jetty by the Thames in July (just down the road from The O2). Whether it's in the studio or a live environment, Fashion Blind aren't slowing their upward trajectory any time soon.
