EM|ME

EMME is a singer-songwriter who started writing her own songs back in Holland, where she was born and raised. With her ability to play both the piano and guitar, she has a wide range of songs. The best description of her music would be indie-pop with a bit of soul, having people say her work resembles that of artists like Tracy Chapman and Lianne LaHavas. However, she has a very unique voice that can’t be compared to any other artist. This might have arisen from her mixed ethnicity, namely Dutch and British-Caribbean. Two years ago she moved to Glasgow, mainly for its music scene. Since then, she has been developing as an artist, playing gigs in Glasgow, London, and The Netherlands. Examples are at the Belladrum festival, the Big Feastival, The Bedford and Tivoli Vredenburg. She has just released her very first EP, W I E, which is written, recorded, and produced by herself.
