Catchy hooks, powerful riffs, well-crafted songs and lyrics to die for, echolines are an original rock band from Newcastle UponTyne with hints of classic 80’s/90s indie.
Influenced by the pop sensibilities of The Cure and Echo & The Bunnymen while delivering the harder edge of acts like Sugar and Ride, echolines have carved out their own unique sound which is both instantly familiar but difficult to pigeonhole.
echolines are Charlie on Vocals, Jon on bass / electronica, Mike on drums and Rich on guitars.
Recently, local music press have been getting pretty excited by Echolines live performances and the debut EP
" CostaSilencio ...emotive vocals alongside a lingering feeling of melancholy... / ...second track ‘Make You Mine’ presents an abundance of attitude that is paired with the most energetic and addictive of melodies." Caitlin Thompson, NE Volume - February 2017
"emotional and melodic songwriting" www.blissaquamarine.net
"Their jittery indie pop is something of a breath of fresh air, so catchy that you could easily picture it playing over the opening credits of a mid-90s sitcom. It takes a slower approach in parts before kicking back in with bouncy guitars that pulsate throughout. Quite the perfect track for clutching on to the last happy vibes of what I guess we can class as summer." NARC Magazine - Sept 17
Melodic Newcastle rockers, Echolines, have just released a spectacular 11-track album and it’s, quite frankly, blown me away. There’s just something distinctly dramatic and somewhat ferocious in Echolines sound. And the way the sometimes erratic yet powerful guitar lines pierce through the mix - in songs like ‘HisPrize’ and ‘MakeUMine’ especially - makes for a unique, stylistic composition. Overall, it’s a stunning and fitting end to a great album - an album that is definitely worth purchasing NE Volume Dec 2017
