Vocal Chronology is a career-spanning compilation from Scottish guitarist, composer and producer Chris Adams — a collection that traces the emotional arc of one of the most distinctive voices in independent music.

At its heart is Fly — a collaboration unlike any other. The late, legendary Nick Drake appears not in song but in spoken voice — a monologue drawn from his private home recordings, subtle and barely-there, like a presence felt rather than heard. Layered beneath and around Adams' guitar, Drake's words drift through the track like mist — intimate, mysterious, and deeply moving. It is the kind of moment that stops you still.

Nick Drake left behind very little. What he did leave carries a weight that has only grown with time. To hear his voice here — unguarded, private, human — alongside music of this quality is something rare. Handle it gently.

Across fifteen tracks, Vocal Chronology moves through grief and grace, stillness and storm.
