Chasing Shadows are a four piece pop rock band based in North Wales. Influenced by their favourite bands (such as The Stereophonics, Foo Fighters and Green Day) Chasing Shadows aim to create an upbeat and exciting sound with catchy melodies.
With two EP’s already released (Alive in Wonderland in 2016 and Storytellers in 2017), the band have seen their music reach all corners of the globe, with radio plays in the UK (BBC Radio Wales and local radio) and America as well as in countries as far afield as South Africa and Hong Kong.
The band have over 200 gigs under their belt in the time they have been together, and 2018 was equally as busy as last year, with festival appearances at Formby Festival, Little Dragon Festival (supporting Scouting for Girls) and gigs at the Academy venues across Manchester and Liverpool. They were also selected to play at Indie Music Week Manchester and Focus Wales, which they will also play again in 2019.
The debut LP ‘Alive in Wonderland’ featured the singles ‘Pretty Thing’, ‘Crawling Back to Me’, ‘Burn’ and ‘Paint Me Red’, with the track ‘Broken’ receiving its first air play from Lisa Gwilym (sitting in for Bethan Elfyn) on BBC Radio Wales in January 2017 and ‘Pretty Thing’ before that on BBC Radio Wales Introducing Wales.
The EP, Darker Days, saw the band return to their rockier roots. The first tracks taken from the EP were ‘Warning Signs’ and ‘Hollywood Girl’. ‘Warning Signs’ received radio play in America, Australia, Germany and the UK, and currently has over 1,500 streams on YouTube and or 5,000 on Spotify, with ‘Hollywood Girl’ which was played on BBC Introducing Wales . In addition to this, the video was featured on IndiMusic TV and was given excellent feedback. Chasing Shadows are now following up on the success of these tracks with the new single ‘Open Your Eyes’, which has featured on BBC Introducing Wales and has become a firm favourite with the fans. The tracks 'Everything' and 'Falling' followed, with both building on the success of the Darker Days EP.
Chasing Shadows are back in the studio at the beginning of 2020, with new music coming very soon!
