Brooke Law breaks the mould debut EP ‘Archetypes’
The London-based singer/songwriter is excited to announce the launch of her eagerly anticipated debut EP – Archetypes. Brooke Law has been showing us exactly what she’s made of over the past year; with a stellar run of showstopping performances, hit singles and a cumulative stream total of 500k+ on Spotify and 250k views of her music videos on VEVO/YouTube.
Brooke’s music breaks the mould, transcends genres, whilst drawing inspiration from dance, pop and rock influences. Every one of the five songs on her EP has a unique sound and story, each representing a different female Archetype. Speaking about the EP, Brooke explains; “I wanted to continue challenging the way women are constantly being labeled. I believe we’ve all got a different side to us and depending on the day and who we’re with can bring out one side of our personality more than another.”
The impassioned and inspirational track ‘Fight Like A Mother’ represents the NURTURER Archetype and reflects Brooke’s strong maternal upbringing and feminist values. The more upbeat pop-bop ‘The Edge’ represents the LOVER Archetype and tells a story about the turbulent roller-coaster of emotions that can accompany being in a relationship. The raw and angsty track ‘Are We Done’ represents the BEST FRIEND Archetype and the pain that follows in the wake of a broken friendship. The sassy ‘See Ya Later’ represents the QUEEN Archetype and is about a woman taking control of who she wants to meet and what she wants to be. And lastly, ‘Don’t Say It’s Love’ represents the FREE SPIRIT Archetype, and the idea of not rushing into anything just because that’s the norm.
It has been a momentous year for the North London-based songstress, with BBC Asian Network and BBC Music Introducing Essex selecting Brooke as one of their Artists to Watch in 2019, an interview with Sky News to raise awareness of the “Million Women Rise” in March 2019 as part of International Women’s Day.
The singer has also been attracting regular radio airplay, with ‘The Edge’ now on C-list rotation on BBC Asian Network and her other singles featuring on playlists in Jigsaw, Phase Eight, Links of London, Gorgeous Kitchen, Wynsors Shows, Sports Direct, Butlins, Missguided, and Nobles Amusements.
With a debut EP and a growing fanbase under her belt, Brooke Law is showing no signs of slowing down.
