In 2023, Born Healer was voted Band of the year on Severn FM's Dr Wart Hoover's Blues Show, and Helen Turner was nominated for the UK Blues Federation's best vocalist.

Born Healer is based in South West London, England.

BIOG

Helen Turner, on vocals, from Glasgow, Scotland, is "the real deal" according to Classic Rock magazine, "brilliant" and "in a different class" according to Classic Rock: The Blues, and simply "wonderful" according to Blues Matters. In 2023, Helen was nominated for the UK Blues Federation best vocalist award. Beautiful vocals on record and even better live.

Iain Black, on guitar, and main songwriter, has long been Helen's musical partner. They were founder members of British blues scene regulars, the Bare Bones Boogie Band, and had one of Classic Rock:The Blues magazine's albums of the year. Helen and Iain are both past British Blues Award nominees.

Marek Funkas, on bass, is an award-winning and in-demand London musician. He has played with major international touring artists in major venues, and also performs and writes with his own band, Laba.

Steve Weaver, on drums, is a similarly in-demand musician, touring in original, tribute and function bands, while still finding time to sing lead vocals in leading AC/DC tribute band, Bad Boy Boogie!
