The BibleCode Sundays, “The Clash on Irish Steroids”.

From West London, most of the band either Irish born or Irish blood, the passion and aggression of their Celtic roots is filtered through their London surroundings. Lead singer Ronan MacManus comes from a musical family tradition, his brother being Elvis Costello. Andy Nolan played with Shane MacGowan & The Popes and the rest of the lads have all spent time paying their dues on the London music circuit. The drummer for 12 years was Carlton Hunt who played with Bad Manners, sadly passed away in November 2017 and is replaced by good friend Joe Cotterill. They had just released their latest album Walk Like Kings, which includes guest appearances by Russell Crowe, Elvis Costello (in fact all 5 MacManus Brothers), Matt McManamon (Dead 60’s), Lorraine O’Reilly & Elly O’Keeffe. The loss of Carlton has spurred on the band to reach new heights and fulfil a much lauded potential.

They have achieved so much already playing with bands such as Dropkick Murphys, John Lydon’s Public Image Ltd, Saw Doctors, Thin Lizzy and of course Elvis Costello. Also playing big stages such as Glastonbury, Finsbury Park, Celtic Park, Twickenham Stadium, the Roundhouse, Royal Albert Hall, Glasgow Barrowlands, Indigo at The O2, Beacon Theatre NYC and The House of Blues in Boston.

Recent albums have seen them progressing away from their Irish Folk Roots and Walk Like Kings is fantastic representation of their natural mix of folk and modern music.
