Things are shifting up a gear for the south coast band Barbudo. This last year has seen them touring their EP, Pleasures, to impressed, delighted and sold-out audiences around London and the south coast. New unreleased tracks have been received at shows well too, sucking listeners closer, away from their pints and conversations.
The Barbudo sound is an artful mix of irresistible disco-funk tunes that will have you struggling to stand still and soulful mellow dreams to kick back and unwind to. Either way, audiences are growing and being drawn into the slick, big sound they create. Their songs are instantly memorable and engaging, helped by the band’s laid back feel and knack for intricate and soulful melodies
These boys are on a mission; to push the boundaries of what music should sound like today. Their home studio is a magnet, drawing together what we have learned from the past with new directions and passions, painstakingly crafting and melding a new category of music altogether.
Along with headline slots, Barbudo have provided support to the likes of The Big Moon, Superfood and Good Morning and will continue this with Babe Rainbow and several festivals later this year. Flying Vinyl have approached them to cut a vinyl of their newest single for one of their collections and the next EP will be just around the corner.
Written and produced by brothers Ben and Harry Stanworth, a dose of Barbudo is a welcome antidote to the tensions and pressures of modern life.
