Aidan Connell is an Irish/ Jamaican singer songwriter and Bluesman.Aidan Connell's performances have been praised by music legends including Jeff Beck, Gary Clark Jr and Seasick Steve. Aidan Connell is influenced by Blues icons such as Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf and blues innovators; Shuggie Otis, Peter Green and Rory Gallagher combining blues swagger with well crafted songwriting and guitar virtuosity which reinterprets the well worn blues genre with a fresh approach and much needed urgency.

Aidan was raised within a stones throw of the legendary 'Thames Delta' fuelled by stories of the areas musical heritage, Aidan sought to pursue music, providing escape from an often unsettled upbringing. Upon moving to London’s East End Aidan modelled for extra cash , including ads with Kate Moss and Esquire Magazine whilst seeking out like minded individuals to create music with. Aidan was subsequently mentored and guided by Ric Lee (Ten Years After) Blues guitarist Otis Grand and David Roback (Mazzy Star Opal, The Rain Parade) honing his songwriting skills, guitar chops, embracing the blues as well as learning his way around a recording studio that would lead to later production work.

Aidan Connell's debut album 'Grio' is produced with friend and collaborator David Roback of Mazzy Star who has also helmed the faders for Beth Orton, Bert Jansch, This Mortal Coil and Maggie Cheung. In the studio his recordings stomp with the energy of contemporary blues leaders, Aidan Connell has galvanised his rootsy sound with ample experimentation and widescreen atmospherics.

With every show a euphoric be-in encompassing foot stomping blues and hypnotic freak outs which is has drawn in die hard blues fans as well as a devout following from the wider gig going public. Aidan has been personally invited to open for Otis grand, Gary Clark Jr and Seasick Steve and extensively toured Europe, Scandinavia and North America.
