The act met in the mid 90s. Kira was studying an art degree, Richard was writing, performing and producing his own music. Richard mostly worked with rock music as a singer/guitarist but also ran a solo project producing electronic music, enjoying the creative freedom of working independently. Kira became Richards band manager and promoter in 2006. In the summer of 2008, his band were booked to play Glastonbury festival. Inspired by the live performance of Massive Attack that year, Kira persuaded Richard to concentrate solely on his electronic music and develop this as a live act rather than a solo studio project. Over the coming months, he set about creating the atmospheric sound that became the basis of Where the Night Falls. A few months later, a chance discovery of Kiras' ethereal singing style led to the formation of their musical partnership. Kira's voice is soft, yet powerful and distinctive - it's the perfect vocal for their music. The duo's musical compatibility is evident throughout and they clearly find the energy in their collaboration a very powerful, creative tool.
