CASTLECOMER ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE, AUSTRALIAN EAST-COAST SHOWS & RELOCATION TO AMERICA
Australian five-piece Castlecomer are dropping their banging new single “Move” – the first cut off their heavily anticipated Debut Album!
The lads spent time in the studio late last year with Producer Adrian Breakspear (Gang of Youths – Go Farther in Lightness), before heading to New York to have the tune mastered by Grammy Award Winner Joe LaPorta (The Weekend, David Bowie, Run the Jewels).
With sonic hints of Daft Punk and Phoenix, frontman Bede says that the band “wanted a tune to lead our charge into America” – alluding to their move to Nashville in 2018. The song encapsulates the raw energy, drive and enthusiasm the band are feeling towards their relocation. “It celebrates the ability for music to overcome cultural differences and shines a light on the insecurities we all feel and the power that music and dance can have in overcoming fear”.
After electrifying the crowds at SXSW in Austin last year, the US industry was quick to pounce on the Sydney talent; within weeks the boys had inked deals with Concord Records, Paradigm Agency and Mushroom Music Publishing. Since then, they have been recording their debut album, as well as slotting in some US tours. Bede says the band are “ready for an absolutely massive 2018!”
The bands EP, “All of the Noise” brought them to the attention of an international audience. The EP featured singles “Fire Alarm”, “Escapism” and “Get in Line” – The band hit #6 on the Spotify Global Viral Chart, received airplay on stations SiriusXM (USA), KROQ (USA) and spot rotation on Triple J (Aus), and the EP amassed over 5 million streams. Bede says “I genuinely think the album will have the best songs I have ever written, which is really exciting”. Given the success of the EP, the album is understandably eagerly awaited by both a domestic and international audience.
To make sure that their Australian fans do not miss out on the release of “Move”, the band are coming back from the US for 6 shows in May/June before jetting back off for summer festivals and a run of shows across the US mentioning that it may be the last run of shows they do on home soil for the foreseeable future!
