KERRANG – “Attention Thieves are at the forefront of a new wave of exciting British bands”.

BIG CHEESE MAGAZINE - “There is no doubt that the coming months will see Attention's popularity sky rocket still further, propelling the quartet ever closer to the mainstream success that so surely beckons”.

ROCK SOUND MAGAZINE - “Another British band to be proud of”.

Attention Thieves have been away and out of the picture for quite some time and no one seems to know why and what quite happened?

The band started so promisingly playing festivals such as Reading & Leeds, touring and sharing the stage with such bands as Enter Shikari, Mallory Knox, Deaf Havana, Sick Puppies, Neck Deep and many more. There last release a 7 track EP “Hard Truths” had rave reviews and was championed by many radio/TV stations, magazines and press. How was it that the band named by many as the next UK rock band to break through disappeared quietly in to the background?

The truth is a week before the release of Hard Truths the bands label went bust on them. They were shortly dropped by their management due to the massive debt of an album campaign the label had left them with and the band had also been dealing with their own demons for a long time. The band found this difficult to deal with after working so hard for so many years to get to this stage and this only speeded up the process of certain members spiralling even further out of control. To be capable of touring whilst shouldering a slipped disk singer/guitarist Alex Green had become further reliant on self-medication to deal with the pain which resulted in addiction. It all came to a boiling point when he had a heart Attack age 27 during the recording of their Debut album “Year of the Jackal”.

A complete lifestyle alteration would not have only been life changing but for some member’s lifesaving and that is exactly what happened!

The new look Attention Thieves completed the album that almost never saw the light of day and it is by a mile there best stuff yet. The album will be one of the most varied genre wise you will hear and tells a story you need to hear. Year of the jackal is out on the 18th May.
