WKNJ in Soho

Who Killed Nancy Johnson?

St Moritz Club, London, GB

£6 on the door
Entry Requirements: 18

Multi-band night at what one punter calls a "cool dingy cavern of a club". That's about right. Buried underground, the notorious St Moritz Club is the Mr Hyde equivalent of the Swiss ski resort restaurant that lies above it. The St Moritz was a regular after-show hangout for The Clash and The Pistols and others in the punk years. Motorhead used to come here too. It's the sort of place you'd have found Dracula's teenage victims dancing in a 1960s Hammer film. Cellar life, cool, down-at-heel, chic.

WKNJ are playing on that tiny stage right in your face. It's going to get hot.

Plus support from: GON VON ZOLA WHITE HEAT plus ANGEL CAGE "Earworms performed with a punk attitude..." Angel Cage released an album and two EPs produced by Ian Caple (Kate Bush, Francoise Hardy, Tricky) on the ORG label and a third unreleased EP produced by Steve Levine. Angel Cage are a duo: Jean sings, Robin programmes and plays drums. Jean has pinched both Prince's and Donny Osmond's bum although not at the same time (that would be weird). Robin made a pop video at Tippy Hedren's animal sanctuary. Jean did a catwalk show with Vivienne Westwood. Robin bought his first drum kit in May 2016.

Afterwards there are DJs until 3am if you want to make a night of it.

Note the door policy is ruthless in terms of age/ID. If you look anything under 30 we advise you to bring ID.

ST MORITZ CLUB 159 Wardour St W1F 8WH

Oxford Circus/Tottenham Court Road tubes.

(The pic by the way shows Pink Cigar playing the venue. Check them out. Very different band to us in many ways, but close to us in important ones.)
