Line Up

If, as the great Fela Kuti once said, ‘music is the weapon’, then you’ll need to wear armour to withstand the full sonic force of London Afrobeat Collective (LAC) – this politicised party machine are an incendiary live act who channel the spirit of the Afrobeat founder via bass-heavy rhythms guaranteed to make you move.

25th May 2015 saw the release of ‘Food Chain’, the latest album from London Afrobeat Collective. Having been at the forefront of London’s live music circuit and attracting a plethora of international bookings following their self titled debut L.A.C, the 10 piece collective set out to encapsulate the energy generated during their live performances and combine this with a newly evolved songwriting ability and refined musical prowess.

‘Food Chain’ is without doubt the band’s best work to date, representing a new level of discipline for the group, keeping true to the original principles of the Afrobeat movement and paving the way for its future as a unique and exciting genre to be heard and enjoyed globally.

Produced by Leon Brichard (Ibibio Sound Machine, Plan B, Fela! the musical) with graphic design by prolific artist Ben Hito (George Clinton/Parliament/Funkadelic) 'Food Chain' is an album of anthemic songs with socially conscious lyrics, set to bold brass lines and hypnotic danceable grooves.

Since Michael Eavis invited London Afrobeat Collective to open the West Holts (formerly the Jazz World Stage) at Glastonbury, the band are now a highlight of the British summer music calendar having staged highly acclaimed performances at Bestival, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Secret Garden Party, Boomtown Fair, Green Man, Standon Calling, Wilderness and many more. The group also appeared with No. 1 album selling band Bombay Bicycle Club for main stage performances at Bestival, Latitude, Reading, Glastonbury and Brixton Academy.

Their eponymous debut album, successive single releases and remixes have been supported and endorsed by the likes of Questlove (band leader of the Roots) on 'OkayAfrica' and BBC Radio 6 Music’s Craig Charles Funk and Soul show. The band have also performed live on Radio 4's 'Loose Ends' programme presented by Clive Anderson, and have earned rave reviews in the national press including The Guardian and Time Out.

‘Food Chain’ cements London Afrobeat Collective's reputation as one of the most unique and exciting bands in the UK today, having created a highly accomplished work with international flair that’s culturally relevant from London to Lagos.

"Quartet with sounds of jazz fusion and funk. Psychedelic meets Herbie Hancock for everybody to groove to."

Gramma Vedetta
The Kinky Machine
The Street Lights

Original Indie Pop Band from East Sussex, UK.

“Wild Horse, The most prolific trio coming out of the South, from Burwash bringing some 60s flavour to their stomping brand of rock.” BBC INTORDUCING

Championed by BBC Introducing, RadioX and critics globally, Wild Horse are prodigious in every way. Jack Baldwin (19), older brother Henry Baldwin (22) and friend Ed Barnes (21) on drums gel together flawlessly to form irresistibly catchy indie rock, always uniquely infused with their diverse tastes.

Wild Horse cover all bases - incorporating pop, classic rock, punky reggae, blue-eyed soul, dirty funk, rap, Latin and so much more into their distinctive sound - truly their own brand of indie.

Lyricist Jack takes inspiration from daily life, relationships, and (naturally) the experiences of being a politically charged Gen Z-er living in a chaotic social and political landscape. With an extremely mature song writing style far beyond their years, Wild Horse continue to excite, engage and captivate their ever-growing audience with each release.

The East Sussex boys are renowned for an exciting, powerful stage show, having honed their craft from an early age at all the iconic venues in London & the Southeast as well as several festivals, often playing the same stages as many of their heroes once did. Henry & Jack both take turns on Guitar, Bass & Keyboards from track to track, occasionally Henry may add some stunning Harmonica & always Ed is keeping everything in time with his superb drumming, all 3 add their voices to excellent vocal arrangements. The reviews or their songs have been brilliant and extensively played on many radio stations worldwide. Their tracks & albums are available on all major platforms.

With 4 full albums already released, they never cease creating more songs taking in influences from everywhere. Their 5th album, now complete & due for release in November, is a collection of 18 original genre defying songs reflecting on growing up in the modern world, relationships, addiction, mental health struggles and the long journey towards self-acceptance and self-love. It incorporates, Pop, Soul, R&B and the influences of many genres are evident throughout. The entire album was produced by the band itself & mixed by Al Scott, a partnership that worked exceptionally well, allowing the band a new creative freedom.

Three tracks were released as singles throughout the summer & autumn, “Record Collection”, “Freaky Together” & ” Symphony of Broken Hearts” each gaining on the success of the previous, breaking Wild Horse’s Streaming numbers & all receiving extensive airplay including BBC Intros plus other BBC local show, RadioX, Caroline and many other local FM & internet stations around the world. Wild Horse understand the meaning of hard work & are already writing new material as well as rehearsing & playing live shows where they always give 100% ensuring Maximum Entertainment.
