Inspired by writers and poets such as Hermann Hesse, George Orwell and Allen Ginsberg, and with musical influences ranging from Woody Guthrie to Ravi Shankar, Tom Lockett combines Great Depression style folk, with the sounds of blues, jazz and 'The Summer of Love'.
The former Electroshock Therapy front man released his debut single through Magic Cactus Records in August 2016, and embarked on his first ever national tour to promote the record. As well as being featured in popular 60's inspired music magazine, Shinding!, he received rave reviews from the likes of Louder Than War, and gained radio play in the UK, Europe and the US.
"If anyone can conjure unlikely magic from the overlooked elements in pop’s great chemistry set, it’s Tom" - Louder Than War
"Imagine if Devendra Banhart was young, politicised and working class; and his debut single sounded like a psychedelic Mungo Jerry" - Shindig!
"Step aside Jake Bugg, Tom Lockett and his harmonica will take it from here" - The Pentatonic
"Tom Lockett is a modern social-conscious troubadour" - Dansende Beren
