Join us this Saturday for the Showcase Final of Liverpool Acoustic's totally unique Songwriting Challenge The 2017 Showcase Final for the totally unique Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge takes place at LEAF on Bold St this coming Saturday 13th January 2018.
This special event sees the ten top placed songwriters in the 2017 competition performing their entry with an image of the work of art that inspired it projected onto the big screen for everyone to see. At the end of the night the winner of the Judges' Award will be announced and a vote will be taken to find the Audience Favourite winner.
The winning songwriters in each category will have their songs professionally recorded at Crosstown Studios and will receive a songwriting or singing coaching session from Balance Vocal Studio, plus a cello lesson from Luke Moore.
Operation Lightfoot will be playing two sets as part of the evening. Fronted by local musician and composer Luke Moore, Operation Lightfoot is a collaboration project that features a range of guest singer-songwriters, musicians, co-producers, photographer and film makers. The group will be opening both halves of the show and will feature live visuals on the big screen.
The Songwriting Challenge is a totally unique event that saw songwriters submitted brand new songs inspired by works of art on display across the Liverpool City Region during the October entry period. Judges Stephen Langstaff, Kaya Herstad Carney, Robert Vincent and Jon Lawton listened to all of the entries and gave each one a score based on lyrics, melody, composition and originality. The points from the judges were added together and the songwriters with the ten highest scores were awarded a place at the Showcase Final.

Entry to this unique event is £6 in advance from TicketQuarter and on the door. All profits will be divided between Marie Curie Cancer Care's Woolton Centre and Garston Animal Rescue in memory of Liverpool Acoustic team member Sharon Jones.
