Otep Shamaya's music is formed from the poetic marrow of creative intercourse. Art for art's sake. She was signed to Capitol Records in 2002 after only 5 shows, without a demo, and strictly on the power of her live performance. Since then, she has spoken at the Democratic National Convention on behalf of Rock the Vote, nominated by GLAAD for Outstanding Artist Award with Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert, won MTV's prestigious BEST VIDEO for Music with a message award. She has recorded 6 studio albums, 1 EP, and 1 live album, all original music, recorded several spoken word projects, expanded into the world of Voice Over for television, video games (THE LAST OF US), and major motion pictures (THE HOBBIT: The Battle Of The Five Armies), authored 3 books of original poetry, and continues to write and contribute to many other projects.

"Following in the footsteps of outspoken musicians from folk singer Woody Guthrie to Rage Against The Machine's Zach de la Rocha, Otep Shamaya has positioned herself as one of music's catalysts for social change." — Revolver Magazine

Line Up

Otep

In Search Of Sun are a new band that are bursting onto the underground scene with an abundance of head bopping beats, epic choruses and ambient soundscapes. Formerly known as Driven, this quintet have come a long way from their groove laden metalcore roots, and the progression from EP to Album marks a big step up in songwriting, production and maturity. The album itself is built upon a foundation that’s been in the making over the last 3 years, with the name change being the final piece of the puzzle in terms of crafting and sealing the band’s identity.

Since the bands inception, the boys have been creating a vicious racket on the live front having already shared stages with the likes of Knuckledust, Mortad, Painted Smiles, US metallers IKILLYA, Skreamer, Second Rate Angels, Stormbringer, Sacred Mother Tongue, Cypher 16, Cambion, The More I See (who handpicked them to open up at an Earache Records/Metropolis Music showcase in London) and ended last year as support to Absolva and Bloodstock favourites Evil Scarecrow. Following a high octane set at Hammerfest 2013 in North Wales, ISOS have played at sold out shows at The Borderline and Relentless Garage in London, and blown audiences away all over the country, blending a fine mix of infectious melodies, raw emotion and an intense interaction with their crowd, all recurring themes throughout their promising young live career.

A 5 track EP, released in October 2012 entitled ‘A Breakdown of Character’ (released via itunes/Amazon) saw the single “Uproar” get playlisted on Scuzz TV’s Nonstop Metal Playlist.

In Search Of Sun released their debut album worldwide in October 2014 through Raging Demon Entertainment. With shows and tours pouring in and some great press to boot, there will be ample opportunity to taste the fire that this 10 track beast of a record will have to offer. Production duties set to be handled by Phil Kinman (Deadly Circus Fire/Tank/Paul Di’Anno) and mastered by Harry Hess (Cancer Bats).

The World is Yours single is out now via iTunes and has also been added to Scuzz TV’s playlists.

Khaidian. (Kay. Dee. An)

Even the name evokes something… unique. And “unique” is what defines this four-piece from London, England.

Fusing the polyrhythmic technicality of “Djent”, with haunting Trance-like electronica, filthy Dubstep drops, and a soaring, soulful vocal style, Khaidian are one of the few bands in the UK (if not the world) bringing something truly unique to the alternative/heavy music scene.

This is a band who don’t comfortably fit into any pigeon hole, or conform to any expectations.

Founded in 2010 by guitarist/programmer John Tyrell (ex Interlock) and bassist Joseph Perumal (Mortad/ex-Almamorta), Khaidian was created with a vision – to meld fury with technology; to create something special, to push the boundaries of both Metal and Electronica, to bring the world something…. Different.

Initially plagued by line up changes, it became increasingly difficult for John and Joe’s bold vision to be realised. Frustrations mounted, hope was nearly lost.

Then, in the spring of 2014, Andy Hutton (ex Stoopi/Dragnerve) was handed the vocal reigns. Eschewing the traditional “Screamy/Growly” metal vocal clichés, Andy, John and Joe quickly realised that the initial vision for Khaidian had been surpassed – they were taking this music in a direction no one had expected – they were doing something truly unique.

…It was going to take a hell of a drummer to be able to keep up. Thankfully, they found a hell of a drummer in Paul Fowler (ex Dragnerve), and Paul was swiftly enlisted to handle the percussion duties.

The line up was complete. Khaidian was finally taking flight.

Four talented and experienced musicians, each from very different backgrounds, bringing a range of styles, skills and influences to the table, to create something the world has never heard before.

They say that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Listen for yourself. You will understand.
