Maria Bettencourt, is a young rocker, born in Praia da Vitória, Azores, Portugal, comes from a very strong musical background, mother, São Garcia,a tradicional folklore singer and her father Luis Gil Bettencourt, performs on her band as a guitarist,composer and co-writer. Maria set the stage for the first time at the age of 10, performing aside her uncle and godfather, Nuno Bettencourt, guitarist of the american rock band, Extreme. Maria Bettencourt has performed in Boston, Hollywood, Long Beach,New York, Lisbon, Islands of Azores, Portugal and now, her debut in the U.K. at the Underworld in Camden.
