Hello Bear Odder Seas Foreign Bier

The Owl Sanctuary Friday 30th June £4adv/£5door

Pinch, punch, it's the last day of the month and we have a local musical showcase to welcome in the hopefully warmer month of July.

Headliners Hello Bear have been gracing fine city spaces for a while now and they really are one of the best local groups around. Think Fuzzy Powerpop with nostalgic pop punk pinches which is influenced by: Weezer, girls, beer, coffee, cartoons, not acting your age.

Supporting are Odder Seas who are another of the excellent local groups who've popped up over the past couple of years. Excellent lo fi indie rock.

Opening are newbies Foreign Bier, who are making their Owl Debut. They describe themselves as three inebriated dudes, singing in the shower, we'd call them powerful melodic punk.

Doors from 20:00, £4adv/£5door.

Line Up

Everyone's diaries / blog posts are soggy with tears, depressed teens are falling deeper into the dark corners of Tumblr, people's necks are banana-ing due to endless hours on Candy Crush Saga and your parents are sharing intimate details of their lives on Facebook. It's time to look up, smile, dance your legs off and engage in fun rock, with high fives, confetti and fireworks! Hello Bear are here to make you realise...sometimes, life is not as bad as you think. The East Coast UK outfit featuring: Luke Fox (Vox, Guitar, Keyboards), Mary Podd (Guitar), Tom Harvey (Bass) and Daryl Blyth (Drums) are no strangers to the stage. All established musicians in their own right and not only confident performers, but they know how to write a catchy tune that should appeal to indie kids, punk kids and kids that hate everything! With a couple of well received DIY releases under the band's belt and countless support from the likes BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 6, Amazing Radio as well as establishing themselves locally, further afield and hitting ears across the sea, the band are now taking things to the next level, strapping on jet packs fuelled by lucky charms ready to high five the stars...
