Formed way back in 1988, The Haywains began as part of the Bristol area’s thriving indiepop scene during the late 80’s and early 90's. Delivering riotous jangle-pop with a playful boy/girl dual vocal delivery, singer Jeremy’s much loved on-stage banter always provides a thoroughly entertaining live show!

The Haywains produced a string of no-frills punk-pop records for emerging labels of the time, including singles for Elefant Records (Spain), Four Letter Words (USA) and three albums for Vinyl Japan. After eight years together playing nationwide, the Midsomer Norton based six-piece called it a day in 1996.

The band reconvened in 2013, a date which marked the 25th Anniversary of their original formation. With four original members on board, the current line-up have already notched up shows in Europe and the US. Refreshingly, the band are offering more than just nostalgia. With two new singles already in the bag and a third on the way in 2016, the band's current live shows deliver the hits both old and new. Younger audiences are discovering a vintage band still at their most invigorating and wittiest best.

Songwriter Paul Towler is also the founder of other recording bands The Westfield Mining Disaster and The Casswells while singer Jer Hunt co-runs Bristol based punk label Cider City Records. As well as the international popfest circuit, the band continue to perform around the UK today.
