Our venue is the proud winner of the Sunday Herald Scottish Culture Awards 2016/17 for the Best Performing Arts Venue in Scotland and was named Best Venue at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards! This can only have been helped by having one of the best equipped rooms of our size in the country. With a standing capacity of 120, we can hold intimate, fantastic looking and sounding shows. Our venue has been set up with performers, sound engineers and of course, the viewer in mind.

We have a high definition film projector with a Blu-Ray player and screen making film screenings easily achievable.

Our very eclectic programme of events has hosted shows with a wide range of world class musicians from Rustie to Ogoya Nengo. We also showcase many up and coming local acts. Add to this events such as The Glad Academy (which has featured speakers like Nicola Sturgeon, Liz Lochhead, Gerry Hassan and Elaine C. Smith talking on big subjects), regular film showings, comedy nights and small theatre productions and you start to see the possibilities and flexibility our venue offers.

The beautiful bar, designed by Gerry Thomson and Simon Harlow, is wheelchair accessible and stocks a wide range of beautiful beers from Williams Bros to Beaver Town.

The Glad Cafe hosts and promotes our own shows but the venue is also available to hire if your event fits in with our programming. To enquire about bookings please email KIM@THEGLADCAFE.CO.UK.
