We are so happy to be reopening this September! We can't wait to see all of our brilliant customers at The Glad Cafe again and of course, we welcome the long-awaited return of live music!
In the interest in keeping our staff, customers and performers safe, we ask that you take a look at the following Covid-19 safety information. You can access a downloadable version of this document, here!
Please be kind and respect others
We are so delighted to see the return of live gigs, but first and foremost, we must ask our customers to be kind, patient and respect one another. This goes for our staff, too, who are working hard to ensure your safety and their own.
Are you displaying symptoms?
If you are displaying symptoms of COVID-19, please stay at home and book a test. https://www.nhsinform.scot/self-help-guides/self-help-guide-coronavirus-covid-19
Vaccination and Testing
We would highly encourage taking up the offer of the vaccine, if you are able to do so. https://www.nhsinform.scot/covid-19-vaccine
Please take regular lateral flow tests. Our staff will also be testing regularly. You can order test kits for free, here: https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests The Glad Cafe is a small operation and unfortunately we do not have the space/means to conduct on-site testing.
If you are attending a live show at The Glad Cafe, you should take a lateral flow test up to 24hrs before the show (and we encourage testing afterwards, also). You may be asked for evidence of a negative lateral flow test result upon entering the venue, so please be prepared.
If you or a close contact tests positive for Coronavirus, please stay at home.
If you can no longer attend a show at The Glad Cafe due to positive COVID status, please contact email@example.com and we will do what we can to either offer a refund or ticket to an alternative show. Please note, refunds may not always be possible, as specific refund policies will vary among promoters/event organisers.
QR Code Check-In/Out
Upon arrival you will find our Test & Protect QR code. As per current Scottish Government guidelines, you must check-in and out of the building. If you do not have a smart phone, please inform a member of our staff and we can record your Test & Protect details manually.
As per Scottish Government guidelines, masks must continue to be worn indoors, except when: drinking, dining or dancing. So please continue to wear your mask, particularly whilst up on your feet for example: entering/exiting The Glad Cafe, ordering at the bar, going to the toilet etc. Our staff will be wearing masks at all times.
As a small organisation and like many other grassroots music venues, The Glad Cafe venue realistically needs to operate at full capacity in order to make live shows viable.
We ask those attending gigs to please be respectful of each other's personal space.
Hygiene / Cleaning / Ventilation
When visiting The Glad Cafe, please make use of our hand sanitising stations and wash your hands thoroughly when visiting the toilet.
Our staff will be regularly cleaning surfaces and ‘touch points’.
We will continue to use and encourage contactless payment.
We will keep the building as ventilated as possible. Ventilation will be on at all times and doors to the venue will be open before and after ‘sets’ to help increase airflow. We will also be monitoring the air quality in the venue via Co2 monitor.
Thank you everyone for your continued patience and support.
Let’s be kind, look out for each other and protect live music!
