Welcome back to The Glad Cafe!
In the interest of keeping our staff, customers and performers safe, we ask that you take a look at the following Covid-19 safety information. You can access a downloadable version of this document, here!
Please be kind and respect others
We are so delighted to see the return of live gigs, but first and foremost, we must ask our customers to be kind, patient and respect one another. This goes for our staff, too, who are working hard to ensure your safety and their own.
Are you displaying symptoms?
If you are displaying symptoms of COVID-19, please stay at home and book a PCR test. https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/infections-and-poisoning/coronavirus-covid-19/test-and-protect/coronavirus-covid-19-get-a-test-if-you-have-symptoms/
Vaccination and Testing
We would highly encourage taking up the offer of the vaccine and booster, if you are able to do so. https://www.nhsinform.scot/covid-19-vaccine
From 18 April 2022 lateral flow device (LFD) tests are only available for specific groups of people when they do not have symptoms. If you are eligible, LFD tests can be ordered online or by phoning 119.
If you have symptoms of coronavirus, Scottish Government guidelines state that you should self-isolate immediately and book a PCR test. For more testing info, visit: https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/infections-and-poisoning/coronavirus-covid-19/test-and-protect/coronavirus-covid-19-get-a-test-if-you-have-symptoms/
If you can no longer attend a show at The Glad Cafe due to positive COVID status, please contact kim@thegladcafe.co.uk and we will do what we can to either offer a refund or ticket to an alternative show. Please note, refunds may not always be possible, as specific refund policies will vary among promoters/event organisers.
QR Code Check-In/Out
Upon arrival you will find our Test & Protect QR code. We recommend checking in and out, when you visit The Glad Cafe, however as per current Scottish Government guidelines, this is no longer a legal requirement. If you do not have a smart phone, please inform a member of our staff and we can record your Test & Protect details manually.
Face Coverings
We recommend wearing face masks, particularly in crowded areas such as the venue, however, they are no longer a legal requirement from Scottish Government. We ask that everyone please respect individual choices and be considerate of others.
Space
As a small organisation and like many other grassroots music venues, The Glad Cafe venue realistically needs to operate at full capacity in order to make live shows viable.
We ask those attending gigs to please be respectful of each other's personal space.
Hygiene / Cleaning / Ventilation
When visiting The Glad Cafe, please make use of our hand sanitising stations and wash your hands thoroughly when visiting the toilet.
Our staff will be regularly cleaning surfaces and ‘touch points’.
We will continue to use and encourage contactless payment.
We will keep the building as ventilated as possible. Ventilation will be on at all times and doors to the venue will be open before and after ‘sets’ to help increase airflow. We will also be monitoring the air quality in the venue via Co2 monitor.
Thank you everyone for your continued patience and support.
Let’s be kind, look out for each other and protect live music!
