Jess McAllister and Band
The music of Exeter based Jess McAllister spans from free-spirited, nostalgic folk, through to rhythmic, gutsy blues, rock and pop. Switching effortlessly on stage between electric guitar, banjo and piano, she blends her honey dipped vocals and her craft of songwriting with live performances filled with spontaneity, passion and pure heart.
Jess will be with her band: Lucy Piper on drums; Abi Crisp on lead guitar; Matt Gordon on bass.
“Jess has done it again - a master of taking the trash of life and making a smash from it, Sarah Gosling, BBC Introducing in the South West
“Make no mistake, here is evidence of a ferocious emotional and musical intelligence at work” Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music
Seren the Heron:
Seren (they/them) is a singer-songwriter who turns contemporary debates and long known lessons into musical stories.
Their debut album Scrambled Mess (2015) was inspired by their upbringing in South Wales and the landscape and the people that live there.
Today they are returning to music after a few years' break, during which they have have come out as trans and developed their craft and identity as an artist. Their songs reflect what it means to belong, to be different, to be loved, to lose, and to fight for what's important.
The Great Lawn Sessions II are curated and hosted by Katie Whitehouse & Christian Murison #blackbirdwhitehouse in association with the Dartington Trust and Dartington Arts.
