Brace Yourself for Turbulence- "Turbulent" by Waterparks review
by Anthony
Waterparks are back in... green? It's true! Waterparks have returned with a new aesthetic, a new record label, and most importantly a new single! This marks the beginning of the next era of Waterparks, something a lot of fans have been waiting months for after the end of the Entertainment era. So let's get into the new single! The new single is titled Turbulent and is a total departure from most of their older material. It experiments in both instrumentals and in lyrical content. The song begins with an almost mysterious guitar riff and a fast drum sample over most of the song that could be described as a dark rave song along the lines of Nihilist Blues by Bring Me The Horizon. The song is probably the catchiest thing you'll ever hear, but no matter how weird and amazing the instrumental is, you aren't ready for the lyrics. In the first lyric of the song Awsten name drops Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy, so you know it's gonna be an interesting track immediately. The song is one of the angriest and most bitter songs Waterparks have released to date! The main refrain of "I'd unfuck you if I could, I'd unlove you like I should have" is sure to get stuck in your head after just one listen. Awsten's over the top lyrics are sure to leave a sour taste in anyone's mouth but will leave you dancing and singing in the living room screaming the words "It's turbulent, turbulent" all night long. All in all, the new Waterparks song is everything I personally had hoped it to be and more! Stream Turbulent by Waterparks now from Hopeless Records!
