Lyric and Songwriting Workshop lead by Ryan O'Reilly, hosted by Liam Blomqvist & Anna Vaverková at L.A. Recordings Berlin

Learn and develop techniques that will bring your ability to find inspiration, formulate ideas, compose and complete quality songs to another level. This workshop will look at ways to advance your skills in lyric writing and how that connects to melody and the studio environment. We will run from the late morning until the early evening with a lunch break and the event will take place in L.A. Recordings which is near Humbolthain s-bahn, Berlin, Germany.

Beginning with a seminar there will be guided co-writing sessions were you will collaborate with other attendees. After the break the ideas you established will be elaborated upon. To finish the workshop we will have a Nashville style 'song-in-the-round' circle for feedback. All levels of skill and professionalism are very welcome. The primary focus is lyric writing so a pen and paper are essential items to bring with you, as is a little bit of courage to engage with others and share ideas with the creative people attending. We will incorporate elements of melody later in the day, so if you wish to bring an instrument that is easy for you to carry you may do so, but there are also instruments available in the studio.

Ryan O'Reilly studied poetry at University College Dublin, creative writing at Roehampton University and lead the previous songwriter workshops associated with BIMM Berlin. Ryan has co-written in Nashville, Los Angeles and London earning song placements in Film, Television and Commercials in the United States, U.K and Germany. He has written for internationally acclaimed artists and bands with millions of streams who perform those songs on major tours across Europe and America. Ryan's solo project has been described as 'the perfect antidote to production era pop and reminds you of what music is all about: people, passion and poetry.' by the London Evening Standard.

Liam Blomqvist is a producer and artists who co-owns L.A. Recordings with Anna Vaverková. Liam and Anna (the L & A in L.A.) have been performing in Berlin based band with 'The Flavians' since the band formed at BIMM. Liam has also produced Anna's solo project which has earned an official invitation to the prestigious SXSW festival in Texas and produced projects from artists from all over the world since creating L.A. Recordings with Anna. Liam, Ryan and Anna have been working together in a songwriting-production-performing and recording collaboration which has lead to many songs including 'Every Little Piece of You' which was featured in hit American TV series 'Station 19'.
