Ryan O'Reilly, from Winchester, UK, is a songwriter whose Irish parentage & English upbringing combine to create a passionate storyteller. A meandering path began with performing at open-mics in Toronto as a teen, studying poetry in Dublin & street-performing on London’s Portobello Road.
Ryan began gaining a reputation from fan-booked tours across Europe & Canada, while also learning his trade opening for the likes of This Is The Kit, Matthew And The Atlas and Lissie, joining acts like Tift Merritt, Arkells, Anaïs Mitchell & Dwayne Gretzky on stage. In 2017 Ryan headlined a tour of medieval churches in Europe with The O'Pears then touring with Jadea Kelly in 2018, Hayley Reardon in 2019 and Adam Barnes in 2021.
Debut album The Northern Line was released on Qatar’s first indie label (DNA Records, Doha), singles The One, November & Sometimes Things Just Happen entering German radio charts. 2nd album I Can't Stand the Sound was recorded in a cinema in New York. Like its predecessor it was produced by David Granshaw in collaboration with Tyler Kyte. Released 2018 it was warmly received by German & Spanish radio. A new album was recorded on the Isle of Wight during lockdown produced by David Granshaw & Spencer Cullum on Bicycle Path Productions, LA.
