Rhumba Club (feat. Oliver Marson)
Rhumba Club + Oliver Marson
Entry Requirements: 18+
Rhumba Club returns from touring Europe to celebrate his new album with you, in London.
Inspired by Talking Heads, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, Blood Orange & Disco, Tom Falle has created a retro-futuristic escape in the Rhumba Club.
His new record, with its irresistible basslines and synths reminiscent of the legendary Tom Tom Club, is Rhumba Club evolved; a joyous collection of immaculate electro pop, best described by Tom as ‘a kind of queer New Wave’.
‘Love Apokalypto’ is the follow up to 2021’s debut ‘Welcome To The Rhumba Club’, which saw Tom tipped as one to watch by GQ and picking up support from BBC Introducing, Attitude, The Line of Best Fit, The Fader, 1883 Magazine and Clash amongst many others.
Since its inception in 2019, Rhumba Club’s mission has been to provide a space where conventions and personal demons are left at the door, whilst queerness and beautiful weirdos hold fort within.
Support comes from Oliver Marson. Praised by Anthony Fantano (The Needle Drop) as a "Funky Boy", Oliver Marson's music exists in the same vein as art rock bands like Sparks, Pulp and more contemporary artists like Alex Cameron and Connan Mockasin. His signature croon, energetic shows and satirical lyrics commenting on the grisly truths of 2020s Britain have earned him a cult following in the UK. After, playing with bands like The Big Pink, Vanity Fairy, Enjoyable Listens, Minimal Schlager, GHUM, Moreish Idols, Tempers, White Devil Disco and Pink Eye Club, his latest work features collaboration with Jorge Elbrecht (Caroline Polachek, Japanese Breakfast). His music has also been featured on Rolling Stone, Loud and Quiet, Brooklyn Vegan, Under the Radar, the Amazing Radio A-list, Hard of Hearing, BBC introducing and Fresh on the Net.
