Brooklyn - Rebecca Hurn Review by Robs Raw Music Blog
As I write this review of Rebecca's new single 'Brooklyn', she is having a well earned break in New York City or is it a bus-man's holiday?
This beautiful song was written by Rebecca on an aeroplane on her way home from New York City in May.
I am guessing that New York is one of her favourite places in the world and she transmits that love into a stunning, beautiful track that was recorded and produced with the talented Lee House (Amy Wadge/Eleri/John Adams/Cerys Matthews) who also produced Rebecca's superb EP 'WAVES'.
The single was released on November 5th and I expect it to rocket! ...Sorry...
The song itself is a pop folk type of single with haunting melodies throughout. It tells of a love between two people worlds apart but not for long. Rebecca really has a delicious, goldenous tone in her voice which transmits throughout, and with Lee adding his subtle tone it really gives us a glorious melody. Joining the highly classified ranks of women releasing music in the more traditional sense, it comes as quite a shame that this song most likely won’t get the recognition it well and truly is entitled to receive.
The way the lyrics are structured alongside the elegant instrumentation, result in the song being so easy to listen to and immediately becomes such a lovable song. http://robsrawmusic.blogspot.com/2018/10/rebecca-hurn-brooklyn.html
