Republica @ Welly 29/03/2019
The legendary Republica graced Hull with their first tour date ahead of their new album. They have been a band for 25 years in 2019, finding their biggest success in 1996 with 'Ready to Go' and 'Drop Dead Gorgeous'.
Their classic songs still serve them well and with a die-hard fanbase creating a positive and fun atmosphere. In their live performance you can tell their music was born out of the post-rave era pop/punk fashionista culture with the heavy synth set up, the singer still sporting her classic look and the mentioning of Saffron's friend Keith Flint, who's funeral she had attended just days before.
Overall a rollercoaster of an evening, we had a lot of fun and the crowd were kind to us considering we bring 80's indie pop vibes and they came to see 90's rock rave pop.
Thanks to Screaming Tarts Promotions and Republica for having us!
