RedFaces @ Adelphi 15/02/2019 (Mr. Nobody)
It was an absolute pleasure to support the RedFaces on their early 2019 tour. A real nice bunch of lads that were supportive and appreciative of the support acts which you don't often find in headline bands.
We brought a new tune to the set called Mr. Nobody.
Mr. Nobody is about a poltergeist from Pontefract, the hometown of our rather tall frontman. The story goes that in 1966 a family moved into the address '30 East Drive' and immediately began experiencing paranormal activity, from green foam from the taps to furniture being moved around and even thrown down the stairs. The family affectionately named the poltergeist 'Fred'.
The local press dubbed this phenomenon 'Mr. Nobody' in 1968 but as amusing as the antics of 'Fred' the poltergeist were, his particular affliction to daughter Diana Pritchard would take a dark turn. As she grew older the attacks took on a new level and she was dragged screaming up the stairs, her face was constantly slapped and she was pulled out of bed. Her hair was forever being pulled from her head. Diane ended up severely traumatized and with clearly distinguishable finger marks on her throat.
The truth behind Mr. Nobody is linked to the death of a monk in the house many years earlier. He can often be seen in his monk robes holding rosary beads. To this day, you can visit 30 East Drive and maybe experience Mr. Nobody for yourself...
