Amethysts are Simon Lucas-Hughes and Clarice Parrott. When we first came across the dreamy electro pop duo, we knew we had found a gem. We experienced their blissful live sound last year at The Finsbury in London, where they’re back again with a free show on Jan 23. With two amazing singles released so far, “My Love” and “Stones” , we’re pretty sure you’ll hear more from them in 2017.

You may already be familiar with folk-grunge singer songwriter Joe Banfi; Banfi is the artist’s new band project coming out of East London. The alternative-pop trio recently signed with Communion Records and we’re big fans of their first single “Happy When you Go”. These guys are here to stay. Their next show at the Old Blue Last in London on Feb 8 is already sold out!

Bayonne is Roger Sellers and as his bio says: He is a lot of things, but he is not a DJ. He’s a minimalist composer with a knack for making hypnotic, enveloping songs from a few repeated musical phrases, and also a self-described disciple of Phil Collins. His debut album, “Primitives”, was released in November on City Slang in the UK/EU, also home to electronic pioneers Caribou and Gold Panda. Bayonne is back in London in February. We’ll see you there.

Irish singer-songwriter and YouTube star Bry is set for an even bigger year to follow a pretty epic 2016 in which he released his eponymous album in November, produced by Greg Wells (Twenty One Pilots, Mika and Katy Perry), and supported Twenty One Pilots in the UK on their arena tour. Bry is touring the UK and Europe this year; his aim is to play in every country in the world. He’s ticked off 62 so far... We also love his panda-themed artwork and merch.

Cape Cub is Chad Male’s pop-rock project. He released his first EP “Closer” last year, quickly amassing more than 1 million streams on Spotify. He’s now going from strength to strength with his second “6am” EP. Think Coldplay, London Grammar, Bastille or Amber Run.

You’ve probably come across Declan McKenna as we’re certainly not the only ones to tip him for 2017. The young artist has come a long way since winning Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition in 2015. His wavy guitar-based indie synthpop songs with meaning have gained acclaimed support so naturally, we vote for Declan !

Twenty-one year old musician and YouTube superstar Dodie released her debut EP “Intertwined” in December, taking her straight into the top 40 of the UK album chart. Showcasing her vocals and lyrics with minimal production, her EP is nothing short of beautiful. With a YouTube following of over 700,000 people, we’re not the only ones looking forward to hear what more Dodie has up her sleeve.

Flamingods’ music has been hailed as otherworldly. Paradoxically, their sound could fall into the world music genre, with their multitude of global influences. The London via Bahrain band isn’t exactly new - their latest release “Majesty” is their 4th album, and it’s live that you can really grasp what they’re about: packed shows, fragmented psychedelic visuals and a stage crowded with instruments for a carnival-like experience. They’re touring in 2017 so join the party.

Leo Kalyan is a singer, writer and producer hailing from London with an effervescent sound steeped in electronica, future R&B and downtempo house. He’s already seen strong support from the likes of Annie Mac, Huw Stephens and MistaJam. His latest EP, “Outside In”, is a moving and soothing release on being an outsider. Oh and he also designs beautiful t-shirts for his fans ...

A cult hero in his native Northern Ireland, Pat Dam Smyth is a writer of class, honesty and gravitas with hints of everything from Beck to Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen to The Black Keys. Pat and his co-writer, drummer and producer Chris McComish were in the studio in Ireland to record a new album last year. We're super excited by what this year is going to bring for the band. There are currently two exclusive tracks available for free download on his website... Go on and treat yourself.
