Slow Burn - CD
The debut album by Phil Johari
Phil Johari's debut album "Slow Burn" was recorded in Manchester at Germanium Studios and will be released on 9th March. The album features a host of session players from the North of England and across the pond such as Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy), Christian Madden (Liam Gallagher) & Benjamin Lee Smith (Yola, The Human League).
Inspired by artists such as The Eagles, John Mayer, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson and Tracy Chapman has meant that the music always maintains a "Pop" feel but is guitar driven, harmonically rich and at times musically complex.
The release strategy of Slow Burn will be to release the album in it's entirety as a digital download and CD (with vinyl to follow later in the year) but also to release each song individually to Spotify, iTunes and the like. The "online only" songs will be shortened, with intros and fade outs cropped (and in some instances, entire sections omitted) in order for those who choose to purchase the full album to benefit from getting the full immersive experience of the included soundscapes and longer sections to the songs.
The artwork for the album has been created by Lewis McLean and feature the colour palettes seen in the music by Phil Johari's Synaesthesia, which also dictated the order of the album by "colour coding" the songs.
