Nile Flame: Early Life, Music, and the Rise of Majestic Gvng
Early Life
Nile Flame was born in South Philadelphia on September 14, 1991, to Angela L. Britten and Herman L. Woods Sr. Although born in Philadelphia, he spent his childhood in Kingstree, SC with his father before moving to the east side of Atlanta, Georgia, where he was heavily influenced by Black Christian churches, Southern culture, and his travels throughout the United States. These experiences helped shape a creative perspective that blends spirituality, entrepreneurship, and cultural storytelling into a style that feels both timeless and familiar.
From an early age, music played a central role in his life. He studied drums and violin until the age of 12 and later played keyboard for churches until the age of 19. His foundation in church music and live instrumentation would later influence his approach to songwriting, production, and performance.
Education and Musical Development
Nile Flame attended Lithonia High School during the ninth grade before transferring to Miller Grove High School, where he completed the second semester of ninth grade, all of tenth grade, and the second semester of eleventh grade. While at Miller Grove, he studied vocal performance in choir and further developed his musical abilities.
During the first semester of eleventh grade, he attended Tri-Cities High School, one of Georgia's most recognized performing arts schools. There, he studied music in the same classroom where acclaimed hip-hop artist Big Boi of OutKast once performed his first rap. While attending Tri-Cities, Nile Flame co-founded the group Majestic Bohemians and established his first independent label, The Alien Nation Music Group, laying the groundwork for his future ventures in music and entrepreneurship.
He later graduated from Salem High School in Conyers, Georgia. Following graduation, he was accepted into American InterContinental University to study business. However, having already developed a skill for barbering since the age of 12, he chose to attend cosmetology school instead. At age 19, he enlisted in the United States Army while still enrolled in cosmetology school. After completing military training, he returned and earned his cosmetology certification.
Early Career and Entrepreneurship
At the age of 17, Nile Flame wrote his first business plan while simultaneously pursuing music. During this period, he performed under the stage name "Young Flame" and worked alongside his brother, Caleb J. Woods, as a member of Majestic Bohemians.
Following the group's separation in 2015, he entered a period of transition, seeking a path that would combine music, education, business ownership, and community impact. This period ultimately became the foundation for his long-term vision of building an educational independent label and creative ecosystem centered on ownership, culture, and self-development.
Majestic Gvng and Alkebulan Family
In 2018, Nile Flame launched the Majestic Gvng Podcast, expanding beyond music into media, entrepreneurship, and cultural commentary. The platform would become the foundation of the broader Majestic Gvng movement.
After interning at a recording studio in Altamonte Springs, Florida, curating events, and working with various creatives and entrepreneurs, he founded Alkebulan Family, a conglomerate designed to unite multiple brands, businesses, and creative ventures under a shared vision of economic empowerment and cultural development.
In 2022, while living in Orlando, Florida, he launched the Majestic Gvng Shop and made the decision to leave traditional employment behind to pursue entrepreneurship full-time. Through Majestic Gvng, he combined music, fashion, media, education, and community-building into a growing independent platform.
The Black Hole and Independent Expansion
In 2024, Majestic Gvng and several collaborating artists, entrepreneurs, and brands hosted The Black Hole Speakeasy, a creative networking and performance event held at Hemp House in Orlando, Florida. The event brought together independent creators across multiple industries and represented an expansion of the Majestic Gvng vision into live experiences and collaborative community building.
That same year, Nile Flame received offers from Sony-affiliated labels. Despite the opportunity, he chose to remain independent and continue building his vision without major label involvement, believing that ownership and creative control were essential to his long-term mission.
Life on the Road
Beginning in 2024, Nile Flame adopted a lifestyle centered around travel, spending extensive time living on the road while building the Majestic Gvng brand. Traveling throughout the East Coast of the United States, he used the experience as both a personal journey of rediscovery and a practical strategy for networking, brand development, and creative inspiration.
As a father of five children—two daughters and three sons—he has often described family, freedom, and legacy as central motivations behind his work.
Rebranding and New Era
In 2026, Nile Flame found himself in Syracuse, New York, entering what he describes as the most organized and independent chapter of his career. Through a comprehensive rebrand and relaunch of Majestic Gvng and related ventures, he began releasing music, products, media, and educational initiatives with a renewed focus on structure, ownership, and long-term sustainability.
Today, Nile Flame continues to develop Majestic Gvng as both a brand and cultural movement dedicated to natural luxury, entrepreneurship, spirituality, creative independence, and community empowerment.
Personal Philosophy
Throughout his journey as an artist, entrepreneur, veteran, father, and creative visionary, Nile Flame has remained committed to the principles of ownership, self-development, faith, and perseverance. His work consistently encourages others to pursue purpose-driven lives while building sustainable legacies for future generations.
His message to early supporters remains unchanged:
"Remember you were here before the fame."
