90th Birthday Celebration
Entry Requirements: 18+
The New Zealand Society UK are delighted to invite you to join us to celebrate our 90th Birthday.
We will be holding the celebration on HQS Wellington on the Thames River (Victoria Embankment) on 24 May starting at 6:00pm for 6:30pm and hope you will all be able to join us to celebrate 90 years of the New Zealand Society UK and to welcome to London, our new High Commissioner. HQS Wellington has been chosen not only to honour our Patron, HRH Prince Philip, but also because of its strong historical links with New Zealand, as she was built at Devonport Dockyard in 1934 and between 1936 and 1939, she patrolled New Zealand waters. She served in WWII as a convoy escort in the Atlantic, rescued over 450 seamen and saw action at Dunkirk and at the North African landings. She arrived at Victoria Embankment in 1948 and is the unique floating Livery Hall of the Shipwrights, of which our incumbent High Commissioner is an honorary member during his post in London. It will be a very special night. A sparkling wine on arrival, wine, beer and soft drinks, a served bowl supper and entertainment are all included.
Tickets are £75 for NZ Society members and £85 for non members plus a 10% service charge. In addition a block of 10 tickets can be purchased for £750 (£75 per person) Please note: 1) This event is for adults over 18 years only 2) Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred to another in the event that you are no longer able to attend. 3) NZ Society Members can purchase 1 additional partner ticket at the member rate.
