New songs on the up and up!
Welcome to the first of these blog posts, how frequently I'll do them, what they'll be about and whether they will be in any way interesting is anybody's guess right now!
There's plenty coming up from and for the Mavericks - We've got a music video to make and a single to release, currently scheduled for April. We might be starting a podcast next week. Each individual band member has their own artistic projects, whether music, art, film we'll be sure to tell you about those too.
But for now, we're in the process of working on a bunch of new songs!
There are older songs we're adapting for the bigger band, such as Make Believe and Snapdragon. There are songs that have appeared on albums that we're working on to play live such as the Science of Attachment. And there are some songs we've mostly written together - The Boss, Skeletons in the Closet and Cedar. Of those final three, the Boss is a punk ska epic, Skeletons in the Closet brings out our best gypsy vibes and even has a verse in French and Cedar sounds like what might happen if the Kinks and the Pogues did a collaboration.
