Marco With Love Official Site Born as a solo project in mid 2013, ‘Marco With Love’ has quickly matured into a band whose lineup consists of New York City’s top musical talent, embodying the diversity, DIY work ethic, and true essence of rock’n roll. The band’s vibrant sound gives a nod to influences such as Revolver-era Beatles, Tom Petty, The Kinks, and the Traveling Wilburys while their live show embodies the energy and raw attitude of The Ramones, The New York Dolls, and The Strokes. “Marco Argiro’s amazing charisma blasts from the stage, capturing anyone in its path.” (BBC Guernsey). Their album ‘Love’ “gives plenty of nods to the melancholy-tinged, folk influenced rock of the late 60′s and 70′s, while managing to distance itself enough to still feel relevant to the modern music scene.” (Velvet Rope Magazine) Lead singer/guitarist Marco Argiro has made a name for himself by fronting trans-atlantic acts such as Le Mood and The Killing Floor. “Marco is a unique and phenomenal star on stage and even more mystical when his band Love rocks out with him.” (Sonic Eclectic). He caught the ear of Marky Ramone in 2010 and filled in for Michael Graves (The Misfits) during Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg European tour. For Argiro, a lifelong Ramones fan, it was a dream come true, and the experience inspired him towrite a song that became the closing track on the album. The backbone of the band was complete when Marco pulled in bandmate Peter Landi (The Killing Floor and The Glazzies) for drum duties, as well as longtime friend and collaborator Subodh Samudre (Golden Bones, Peru, Planar) on Bass, and Blaine O’Brien (Brothers NYC) on Pedal Steel Guitar. In 2014 the band has played some key festival dates which included CBGB Music Festival in NYC, CMJ 2014, Indie Week Canada as well as completing a self booked two and half week East Coast tour. The band has supported Courtney Barnett, Lindi Ortega, The Kins, Devo, Janes Addiction to name a few acts. MWL has been busy writing and recording a new EP as a band and is poised to kick things up a notch for 2015.
