The Quietus have long been known to courageously stick their necks out when it comes to recommending banging tunes and we are delighted to be included in not one, but two, of their best of 2017 lists! It's as thrilling as if we were in a sandwich between Bootsy Collins & Betty Davis with The Pointer Sisters as the salad garnish!
I, for one, get a weird sort of vertigo when I have to face a list but these ones are very good. As is Graham Duff's end of year list.; we are on that one too but this isn't some sort of twisted nepotism, it really is a surprise and an honour to be in such fine company.
So much happened in the last 6 months of last year that it was hard to keep up! We went back on BBC6Music for a live session with Marc Riley in June, did a packed out slot on the Rising Stage at Green Man Festival, met PJ Harvey on the train to Brighton on our way to a gig (hopefully she didn't burn the LP and t-shirt we gave her!); and then in November it really kicked off as we released the album on CD, played at Radio X John Kennedy's night in Tooting, toured with the Queen Bitches of Rock - PINS, and supported the fucking BLACK FUCKING LIPS at the now disgustingly-closed-down-to-make-way-for-luxury-flats Coronet in London. We are continuing to receive all manner of glowing reviews from people all over the world as they succumb to the album unleashed in all it's glory and it feels really fucking good.
