'Beautifully crafted Spectral pop' - The Quietus
'Like The Ramones swapping leather jackets with 'The Leader Of The Pack'” - CLASH
'Garage-pop gems' - NME
You & Me, Babe, the debut album from garage pop quartet Love L.U.V. is out now on 12" vinyl format*.
Recorded at Hackney's Buffalo Studios in 2016, the band's first full-length is a collection of songs about love, life and growing up: from the restless feeling of 9 to 5's ("I don't wanna go to work anymore, if this is 'it' then god I'm bored" sings frontwoman Lucy D. in Come See Me) and social climbers (Friends In High Places), to infatuation (You Do Something) and make or breaks (I Got a Letter).
Citing influences from the heartfelt drama of 60s girl group greats like The Ronettes, to the raw and primitive sounds of Ramones and Link Wray, the anticipated release follows a sold-out debut 7" and EP (the latter released on cassette via US indie label Workerbee Records) and an exclusive single release in Japan for This Time Records.
Borrowing their name from the immortal spoken word intro to The Shangri-Las classic Give Him A Great Big Kiss, Love L.U.V. emerged in 2013 and have spent the past four years building a cult following across London's subterranean venues, picking up airplay from the likes of John Kennedy, playing with bands such as The Monocrome Set, Telegram, Ghost Car and SAP, and gracing stages at festivals including End of the Road and Festival No. 6.
You & Me, Babe is out now on digital download and 12" vinyl* via the band's Frango Records label.
