BLOG UPDATE (Reading and Leeds, RAK Studios Live Session, Album Release, UK Tour, Rockaway Beach and more)
Hey guys!
Sorry we've been so quiet on here recently. We've been so overwhelmed with the amount of good news since our last post six months ago that in all honesty we've been struggling to keep up. We thought we'd update you with one big juicy post.
So we spent the summer on the BBC Introducing stages at Reading and Leeds festivals. Here's proof :p
That was one for the memory bank. We even made the Guardian's write up of the weekend, describing us as "Radiohead meets Hawkwind". See for yourself at Rockaway Beach festival in January, we just got confirmed.
We recorded and filmed a live session at London's famous RAK Studios. The guys have done an incredible job. It's rawer, heavier, louder. It's also the first time you'll get to hear Seb our new guitarist on an official KOYO recording. That'll be coming out next year.
Then we celebrated the release of our debut album on September 15th. We haven't been able to believe some of the reviews that have been coming in. Thinking back to when we were making the album in almost total isolation in the remote countryside of mid Wales to now having plenty of people actually know about it, and like it! pat themselves on back
(See bottom for review quotes)
Then we embarked on our first ever UK tour with Japanese band The Fin. We stopped off in London, Bristol, Corby, Brighton, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham and Cardiff. We got closer. We learnt things about each other we didn't necessarily want to know. We're a proper band now.
In fact, we had such a good time we put together a half an hour documentary film entitled 'Conversation In My Head' which will be available on Youtube very soon. Hopefully after watching that you'll feel like you know us a little bit better...
Bye for now x
