KDN Celebrate 10 Years!
Kongo Dia Ntotila
Entry Requirements: 18+
Since last summer when the final new band line up was set in stone at their Latitude Festival performance on the BBC Introducing stage, Kongo Dia Ntotila have enraptured new audiences across the UK, winning over even the most cynical gig-goer. Charismatic front man Mulele Matondo is guaranteed to get you not just moving, but singing along too, to their Afro-JOYFUL fusion of beats and grooves seamlessly blending the best of African dance styles with sweet UK jazz sounds... welcome to Kongo jazz.
This is not Afrobeat and the 'world music' genre is too small for their sound. Neil March (Fresh on the Net, Demerera Records, Trust the Doc) is calling them "absolutely one of the most exciting bands on the planet right now". Everyone from Cerys Matthews to MOJO Magazine is talking about their "incredible musicianship" and joyful sound.
This is not marketing copy. Every word is actual fact. And it needs to be seen to be believed!
