Don't Lie To Me
Kate Ellis has released her new single ‘Don’t Lie To Me’, the follow up track to her debut ‘Ones You Love The Most’, which has been streamed over 60,000 times and played across the UK on stations including Amazing Radio, Chris Country, and BBC regional radio. It's the second track to be released from her forthcoming album ‘Carve Me Out’, out 2nd June 2017.
Describing the inspiration behind the song, Kate said: “I’ve always loved the classic country music storytelling tradition of love gone wrong; in this case someone who’s strong enough and self-aware enough not to stand for it anymore is telling that story. I love the attitude and the ‘sass’ that comes across in the song, also the humour in it and irresistible country swing. The song is a lot of fun to perform and a great persona to adopt. The song was initially inspired by some country-folk blues and soulful R&B artists, like Ray Charles and Jelly Roll Morton, but then the pure country tune within asserted itself and demanded to be let out!”
