Cardiff born, Sheffield raised and now living in London, Kat is rapidly making a name for herself in the capital.

Growing up with so much music coming out of the Steel City such as The Arctic Monkeys, Pulp and Richard Hawley, Kat was spoilt for choice. But one particular artist influenced Kat during the early years, and that man was Joe Cocker. Frank White, a close friend of Joe Cocker and Sheffield guitar legend acted as a mentor to Kat in the early years, and often got her up on stage at many of his gigs to perform to the crowd. At the age of 16 Kat was belting out huge songs with the same heart felt emotion and conviction of her Sheffield influences.

After being credited by both Benni Banassi and Gary Go for covering their hit ‘Cinema’, Kat was signed to Ont’ Sofa Records and recorded ‘Live At The Foundry’. Ont’ Sofa have worked with artists such as Ed Sheeran, Frank Turner and Lucy Spraggon so when Kat was asked to be one of the first acts to release a record on their label she was flattered to say the least.

Quickly attracting the attention of BBC London, Kat was asked to perform a live session and interview at BBC HQ. Mark Forrest featured 'Tightrope' from 'Live At The Foundry', twice during his popular show reaching 3.2 million listeners, as "best of BBC Introducing".

Having always been active in the local music scene in Sheffield, and now in London, small town Kat knows the importance of supporting other artists like herself. Kat launched ‘Blue Sundays’ in October 2014; a weekly music night hosted by Kat, featuring a new up and coming artist every week. Kat says, “It’s hard enough being an artist in a little city, but even harder being an artist in London! When I came here in March 2014 I was introduced to a plethora of amazing artists who really encouraged me and helped me out by giving me a platform to play my music. There’s so much talent in the UK – I just wanna hear it!”

Both press and fans have often described Kat as the small quirky Yorkshire girl with the big voice. In a music scene that is rich with female singer songwriters Kat’s unique voice stands out, with its low soulful register and immense power and purpose.

Kat recently released '‘The Joker’ - the new single produced by Neros (Jack Savoretti, Nell Bryden, Foster The People).

The single follows her debut ‘Giving It Up’ which earned Kat strong support from the late Terry Wogan & Vanessa Feltz on BBC Radio 2, Robert Elms on BBC Radio London and Mark Forrest on BBC Introducing. The single was also playlisted at BBC Radio London, with Kat being the only addition not signed to a major label.

Having already toured the UK supporting the likes of Nell Bryden, Jon Allen and Mike Dignam, Kat has played two SOLD OUT headline shows in London this year at The Slaughtered Lamb.
