"JARA is enchanting" JARA live @ Paard van Troje, The Hague JARA plays warm, imaginative indie-pop – like a strong breeze from the seaside, singing secrets of the heart. The songs, written by frontwoman Jara Holdert, are surprising and infectious – moving lyrics, on beautiful melodies that float high up and way down, sung in a clear, warm voice that resonates with undertones of jazz and folk. Alternating between strong grooves and dreamy tunes, the band’s trademark is their original use of rhythmical layers and vocal harmonies. With a mix of acoustic and electric instruments and synths the band brings an intensity and energy to the stage that envelops a crowd, whether it’s on an outdoor festival stage or in the intimacy of an underground club.

"Dreamlike music with international appeal"

JARA released their debut EP “Sky Collector” in November 2013, toured through Holland and played a number of festivals in the summer of 2014 - Where The Wild Things Are (NL), Valkhof (NL), Food For Your Senses (LU).

They brought out two new singles; “Moving Me” and “Sorrow” while performing on the Reeperbahn festival in Hamburg in September 2014. In the spring of 2015 they focused on writing new material for their debut album, that is set to be recorded and released in the summer of 2015.
