The Kites are a sum of significant parts – three songwriters in their own right, they are singer and virtuoso guitarist Mark Allen, soul vocalist and percussionist Jack Cryer and rhythm man with a dreamy voice Matt Hodgson

They share a close relationship with Richard Durrant and his label LongMan Records – Matt acted as his stage manager for many years and both Mark and Jack have recorded albums for LongMan.
Together they have enjoyed many intimate and soulful gigs, with their close harmonies and original songs, bringing audiences to tears (good tears!). Their style is part folk, blues and soul. With years of solo writing and performing experience behind them it has been this magical chemistry of voices and instruments (and a long-time love of the sea!) that has truly fed them as artists.
