Police Dog Hogan are a high-energy and eclectic eight-piece, combining fiddle, trumpet, mandolin, drums and guitars with four-part harmonies in an exuberant and genre-defying fusing of country, pop, folk, and rocking urban bluegrass. Much-loved Guardian columnist Tim Dowling adds his banjo to the musical mix.

Paul Handyside was singer songwriter with UK eighties indie darlings Hurrah! with releases on Kitchenware and Arista Records. He also released two albums with alt-country rockers Bronze before going solo in 2006.
His first solo album was Future's Dream released in 2007 followed by Wayward Son in 2013 then Tide, Timber and Grain in 2016.
Now with his fourth solo album Loveless Town, Handyside’s songwriting blends elements of Americana, folk and pop. Songs range from the country flavoured Loveless Town and New Frontier, the Bluegrass Not in my Name, to the British folk influenced Hartley Pit Catastrophe. The Rickenbacker-fuelled Lord, Show Yourself harks back to Handyside’s earlier indie roots, while tracks such as Deepest Love and Light of my Life have a more gentle approach. Handyside is aided and abetted by long time cohorts Dave Porthouse on double bass and melodeon and by Rob Tickell, who also produced the album, on guitar and dobro.
