Independent Venue Week: Martha Ffion
It's Independent Venue Week! To celebrate, we're delighted to bring you a series of short performances from some of our favourite artists, filmed live at The Glad Cafe. Tune in via Facebook or YouTube.
Tonight we have the wonderful Martha Ffion, the musical project of Claire McKay (lead vocals + guitar). She is joined by Beth Chalmers (backing vocals + keys).
All of our IVW filmed performances are free to view on Facebook and YouTube, however we strongly encourage you to donate what you can to the artist’s virtual ‘tip jar’. To contribute to Martha Ffion's tip jar, click HERE.
More info: Martha Ffion is the musical project of Claire Martha Ffion McKay, an Irish songwriter based in Glasgow. Her unique style- classic songwriting meets dreampop- has been championed by the likes of Lauren Laverne, Huw Stephens and Marc Riley.
Her critically acclaimed 2018 debut album Sunday Best, released via Welsh independent label Turnstile Records, was nominated for the Scottish Album of the Year Award. She returned to Lost Map Records in 2019 for the release of the stand-alone single ‘Kennedy Hair’, and 2020 sees the release of her sophomore LP, Nights To Forget.
