EL MOONO

Named after a bottle of fizzy water from the now defunked Kwik Save, Fountainhead started out playing clubs and festivals across the country before retreating into the Welsh Valleys with a multitrack recorder and a half empty bottle of tequila. ‘it is the voice that enthralls - as it is a potent and emotive instrument with elements of Stevie Nicks, a shard of Natalie Merchant and perhaps a splinter of Patti Smith in its tones, the latter if she had been a Nashville star rather than a New Jersey shaman’ From the Margins

Fountainhead’s county tinged folk music has been engaging hearts and ears from their home in Wales to the rest of the world. This year saw the band release their first album ‘Nothing Can stay’, with the new material gaining warm reviews and radio play on BBC Introducing and BBC Wales, GTFM and Cardiff Radio.
'Stylistically diverse musically, with emotionally-involving vocals, this consistent, big-hearted, open-air record is a fine addition to a growing body of alt-country-influenced music emanating from Cardiff and the Valleys.' NewSound Wales Festival performances include; Filey Folk, Purbeck Valley, Otley Folk, Big Cwtch, Folk on the Lawn, Fishguard Folk, and Surplus Festival. Alongside local headline gigs and supports slots with Flight Brigade, Karine Polwart, Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets). The line-up features Beth and Eira on vocals and Tom on guitars.

'Undoubtedly a band worth watching the live circuit for in the near future' - Miniature Music Press Cardiff
