Robbie Greig is the winner of the 2017 Niel Gow Fiddle Award, and was a finalist in the 2016 BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award. He has toured with The Paul McKenna Band, Malinky and Radio 2 Young Folk Award winners Talisk and is a member of bands Tannara and INYAL. His debut album (2016) was described as “stunning...thoughtful, creative perfectionism” (Bright Young Folk), “atmospheric” (fRoots) and prompted Songlines to describe him as “a hot new name to watch on the Scots fiddle scene”. Greig is joined by the fiercely in-demandJack Badcock (Dallahan) on guitar.
Dowally make unclassifiable, thrillingly energetic music, fusing their love of traditional Scottish tunes with jazz harmony, Eastern European rhythms and deep Americana raucousness. Dan Abrahams’ driving guitar and Rachel Walker’s swinging fiddle are joined by the extraordinary Phil Alexander (Moishe’s Bagel) on accordion. Having garnered rave reviews all across the UK, from jazz festivals to pub sessions, they release their second album of original material June 2018. “Great stuff” Bruce MacGregor, BBC Radio Scotland “Something very special” FolkWorld “Truly great music-making” Brecon Jazz Festival
