Its Festival Time
Hello to all of the Dishy Tangent fans around the globe!
Well, finally summer arrived and it was one for the history books in more ways the one. Not only did we experience an unprecedented heatwave across the UK, but we also played to our biggest audience to date across 4 events in July.
** Friday 13th July - The Cornbury Music Festival - Great Tew Park, Oxfordshire.**
We kicked off with our debut trip to Oxfordshire to play the legendary Cornbury Musical Festival on With headliners including UB40, Jimmy Cliff, The Stereo Mc's, Alanis Morrissette, Pixie Lott and more this was one HUGE event. We played on the Riverside Stage sponsored by Richer Unsigned. Big thanks to Rob and the team for selecting us from 100's of acts to play. If you missed us on the day the guys at Richer kindly recorded an amazing performance video, just head to our videos section to watch.
Saturday 14th July, Festival Too, Tuesday Market Place, King's Lynn.
We made a welcome return to Norfolk to collect our main Battle of The Bands 2018 prize: a support slot at Festival Too supporting The Darkness and performing to over 10,000! Now that was one experience we won't forget in a hurry and it we enjoyed every second. From being shown our dressing room and sound checking, to listening to the other bands and crowd walking.......to eventually stepping on stage. We wish all of our fans could have been there to share the experience, hopefully we'll get some video to give you a sneak peek. It was our proudest moment to represent London and Norfolk with our original music and see the crowd get down to it!
While we didn't actually get to meet The Darkness, top marks to Sam from Bear Club for repping us on and off the stage. He's an amazing talent too so be sure to follow Bear Club and his own music page here:
Sunday 22nd July - The Dereham Carnival - Dereham, Norfolk
We got to return and play the Dereham Carnival and had an awesome day sampling the local food and drink delights as well as dishing up some top live music. We joined a familiar lineup of Kingdom Keys, The Visitors and a host of activities for the whole family. Thanks to Triston for the booking, it was good to spend the afternoon chatting music and the future!
Thusrday 26th July - Casa Del Mer, Bury St. Edmonds
Finally, we headed to Bury St. Edmonds on 26th July to play our very first wedding event. This was one unique and bespoke affair for Reason's music brothers from Panning For Gold. Drummer and tattoo artist Nipper wanted something different for his wedding and his best man Owen knew exactly what that meant. After a few talks with Reason, it was all done and dusted for Dishy Tangent to be the wedding band. Big thanks to Owen & Nipper for looking after us and congrats to you and Donna.
Without time to stop, it was onto prepping for another round of shows in August, including our Timeless Music Album Launch Tour Finale and a very special 60th birthday party!
Saturday 4th August - The Legacy Lounge, Chelmsford
So we kicked off August at The Legacy Lounge in Chelmsfor with support from Bertie Scott and DJ Chappazz, and what a night we had! Still in the midst of the heatwave, it was an evening for cocktails and catching the breeze. We definitely gave the town centre some music to remember! Big thanks to Kay, Marlow and the team for supporting us and keeping the night on track. Hopefully we'll be back to Chelmsford's hottest nightspot before too long.
Friday 10th August - VW Whitenoise Festival - Euston Park, Thetford
Hot on the heels of the last event, we headed back to Norfolk and this time it was Thetford to play the uber cool VW Whitenoise Festival. Another prize from the BOTB2018 win, this slot was sorted by our man Triston who got us in touch with the most chill festival crew ever! We had an awesome time tearing up the stage, if you missed our performance check out their amazing promo video featuring our song "Unusual". We say top marks on a brilliant festival and can't wait to return next year.
Saturday 18th August - Secret Location, Essex
Saturday 18th saw us put together our biggest self run production: hosting 2 top flight tribute acts and a like cabaret karaoke as well as a performance from us at a very special private event. Big thanks to Reason and the family for requesting us to play and DJ Sonic for keeping the party grooving. It was definitely the biggest independent show we've been a part of and it was a real pleasure to entertain the good folks!
